Overview
A European rail infrastructure programme is entering a demanding design phase for a signalling environment that must coordinate train movements, safety logic and interfaces across multiple subsystems. The consultant will provide senior technical direction where engineering decisions have to satisfy both operational requirements and rigorous safety expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical analysis of signalling interfaces and system level requirements.
- Coordinate engineering input across signalling, control, telecommunications and infrastructure teams.
- Review system designs, interface specifications and verification evidence.
- Identify inconsistencies between operational requirements and proposed technical solutions.
- Support technical decision making during design reviews and programme milestones.
Requirements
- 10+ years of railway signalling or comparable safety critical engineering experience.
- Deep knowledge of railway control and signalling principles.
- Experience with system requirements, interface management and verification.
- Strong understanding of safety engineering and regulated development environments.
- Able to lead technical discussions across several engineering disciplines.
