Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Join an experienced engineering team working on digital subscription and purchase experiences used at significant scale. You will contribute across both frontend and backend development, helping evolve the systems behind checkout, experimentation, personalisation, and customer conversion.This is a hands-on individual contributor role suited to an engineer who can quickly understand an established technical environment, take ownership of complex development work, and collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, analysts, and other specialists.

• You will develop and enhance web-based checkout experiences while considering how the same services and features interact with other client platforms. The role includes designing and extending backend services, APIs, and integrations running on Google Cloud Platform.
• You will also contribute to experimentation capabilities across the stack, including A/B testing and the technical foundations required to safely evaluate changes to the customer journey. Personalisation initiatives will form another part of the work, with a focus on creating a smoother and more relevant purchase experience.
• The engagement will involve improving monitoring, technical instrumentation, and data flows used to understand the conversion funnel. You will work closely with data-focused colleagues to make sure experiments generate reliable, measurable results and that technical decisions can be supported by meaningful data.

• Strong professional experience as a full-stack software engineer in complex, high-traffic environments
• Advanced Java experience, including development of distributed backend services
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform and scalable service architecture
• Extensive TypeScript experience and a solid understanding of modern frontend architecture
• Experience with component-based development, state management, web performance, and frontend monitoring
• Practical understanding of e-commerce, subscriptions, payments, or similarly complex transactional systems
• Ability to design reliable services while considering compatibility, system dependencies, and long-term maintainability
• Experience developing software for experimentation, feature testing, or A/B testing
• Familiarity with data instrumentation, pipelines, analytics, and conversion or funnel analysis
• Understanding of how backend and web systems interact with native mobile applications
• General familiarity with machine learning systems and the ability to collaborate with ML specialists
• Strong product mindset with an understanding of how technical decisions influence the end-user experience
• Comfortable working within an existing architecture and established engineering practices
• Able to work independently, identify what needs to be done, and move development forward without extensive task breakdowns
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team
