Senior Frontend Platform Engineer

A large technology organisation is looking for a senior engineer to develop internal web platforms that help engineering and data teams understand, monitor and improve the quality of business critical information. The assignment has a strong frontend focus, while also requiring enough backend experience to contribute to APIs, platform services and integrations.You will work on developer facing applications, dashboards and self service capabilities used by technical teams across the organisation. The role combines modern web development with platform engineering, data quality and developer experience, giving you the opportunity to influence both the technology and how easily other engineers can use it.

• Build and evolve internal web applications that help engineering teams monitor data quality and identify issues.
• Develop intuitive dashboards that present technical metrics, quality indicators and operational information in a clear and actionable way.
• Create reusable frontend components and platform capabilities that can be adopted by multiple engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that support data quality monitoring, issue management and automated workflows.
• Improve self service functionality so technical teams can configure quality controls and adopt platform capabilities with minimal support.
• Analyse how engineers interact with internal tools and identify opportunities to simplify onboarding, configuration and day to day usage.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data specialists, product managers, designers and other technical stakeholders to shape practical solutions.
• Contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement across the software lifecycle.
• Investigate application and platform issues and work through technical problems from initial diagnosis to implementation.
• Help establish development practices that improve reliability, maintainability and the overall developer experience.

• Five or more years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on modern frontend development.
• Advanced JavaScript and TypeScript skills, including experience building production grade React applications.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, component design, testing and performance.
• Professional experience developing APIs or backend services, with practical Java experience.
• Experience creating dashboards, internal tools or other web applications designed for technical users.
• Comfortable working across the software lifecycle, including development, automated testing, deployment and production monitoring.
• Strong interest in developer experience and the ability to turn complex technical information into clear and usable interfaces.
• Experience working with platform engineering teams or internal developer tooling.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud, Kubernetes, gRPC, Protocol Buffers or large scale data processing is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across frontend, backend and infrastructure concerns.
• Good communication skills and experience collaborating with engineers and product stakeholders in a distributed environment.
