Overview
An advanced engineering team is improving simulation workflows used to validate complex mechanical designs before physical testing. The consultant will work across modelling, numerical analysis and engineering software, with responsibility for making simulation results more repeatable and technically defensible. The role suits someone who enjoys solving difficult modelling problems rather than operating only as a tool specialist.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate numerical simulation models for complex mechanical systems.
- Investigate discrepancies between simulation results and physical test data.
- Improve modelling assumptions, mesh strategies and solver configurations.
- Work with design engineers to translate physical behaviour into appropriate simulation models.
- Document methods and technical decisions so results can be reproduced and reviewed.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in computational engineering or numerical simulation.
- Strong experience with finite element analysis and nonlinear problems.
- Proficiency with tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of mechanics, numerical methods and model validation.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
